WHY ISN'T MY SURGEON LISTED?
Ours is a voluntary directory not associated with any professional society.
We reserve the right to refuse to list any surgeon, for any reason or lack thereof, at our sole discretion.
However...
The absence of a surgeon's name does not imply that he or she is not eligible to be listed here.
There are many reasons why a surgeon may not be listed.
Please keep the following points in mind:
-
BoardCertifiedPlasticSurgeon.com (sm) is a voluntary directory.
-
We are NOT associated with any professional medical society.
-
A non-listed surgeon may have a policy of not advertising their services.
-
The removal of a previously listed plastic surgeon's name does not imply ineligibility.
-
Some surgeons may be unaware of our Directory.
-
Some surgeons are aware of the Directory but have not applied.
-
Our maximum number of doctors City Directory (currently 6) was filled.
-
It should also be noted that we retain the right to refuse and do refuse to list surgeons at our sole discretion and for any reason.
BE CAREFUL, BE BEAUFITUL (sm)
Our slogan is not just an empty phrase.
It is our desire that all of our visitors will proceed with great caution before making the decision to undergo cosmetic surgery.
Cosmetic surgery is an elective surgery but carries the same risks as any other surgery.
Before undergoing any surgical procedure, a patient should undergo a thorough physical examination by their primary care physician to ascertain whether or not they are healthy enough to proceed with cosmetic surgery.
He or she should then carefully consider and weigh the benefits and risks associated with any particular surgical procedure or treatment.
We hope that every plastic surgeon we list will be a physician of integrity.
He or she should be willing to discuss the plastic surgery options and alternatives with their patients.
Non-invasive or minimally invasive treatments may be a viable alternative for many patients.
In some instances the best treatment may be no treatment at all.
The plastic surgery candidate, armed with the knowledge gained through careful research and a good consultation with a plastic surgeon of experience and integrity, can then make an informed decision about whether or not to proceed with surgery or treatment.
We recommend that you "ask around" about a surgeon before making that first appointment.
Then, at the consultation, the surgeon should take the time to answer questions about his or her experience with the particular surgical procedure, hospital privileges, facilities, licensure, board certification, malpractice and past lawsuits, etc.
There are many directories of plastic surgeons and cosmetic surgeons on the internet.
Several offer a great deal of medical information on cosmetic surgery procedures as well as Before & After Photos.
It is our opinion that graphics and detailed explanations of medical procedures don't belong on in a directory website.
We recommend that our visitors visit surgeons' websites for medical information.
Ours is a general information site, not a medical information site.
COURTESY LISTS
Our first pages had Courtesy Lists of board certified plastic surgeons.
A surgeon was not charged a fee to have his or her name listed with us.
Every surgeon we believed to be board-certified in plastic surgery by the ABPS was listed by city.
The amount of time necessary to maintain this site and these lists necessitated the institution of a fee for listing.
This fee is, we believe, minimal conpared to the services offered.
SPONSOR & DIRECTORY SURGEONS
Two levels of subscription were initially charged for listing with us.
Sponsor Surgeons (1 per city) paid larger fee for an enhanced listing which included links.
Directory Surgeons (5 per city) paid a small fee for a generous listing without links.
During 2012 our Sponsorship program will be phased out.
City Directories will now feature a maximum of six (6) surgeons per directory.
Lists of board-certified plastic surgeons in each city will be printable.
The URL (online address) of each surgeon is included in the listing.
(Live links are not offered as this would cause navigation away from our website.)
Directory Surgeons will have equal listings which will be rotated regularly.
We believe this manner of operation will better serve both visitors and surgeons.
We are grateful to our Sponsor Surgeons.
Sponsorship, as mentioned previously, is being phased out this year.
We are grateful to all Sponsors, past and present.
Listed below are the four remaining Sponsor Surgeons.
Thank you for visiting.
